All of the Supplements I Take on a Vegan Diet (not sponsored)
I often get asked what supplements I take on a vegan diet. I mention them briefly in text in “What I Ate Todays”, but I thought itโd be nice to have it all in one video and in a bit more detail. This is basically what I’ve been doing for the last 6 years.
B12
Choline

Taking my daily multi and omega-3 make me feel secure as a vegan lol. I also take a vegan Vitamin A pill bcs I like the way Vitamin A makes my skin look ๐ฅด (carotenemia ftw)
Im just here to rant ignore me
After a year of having my ulcerative colitis diagnosis I’m currently having a late night meltdown because I’ve finally accepted that a vegan diet is no longer sustainable for me and my chronic health condition (I also have a soy allergy and birch allergy so that means eating certain fruits and veggies make my mouth and throat break out and itch) and I haven’t eaten meat in a decade so I have no idea how to even go about reintroducing it with out getting very sick ๐ I feel like something that’s been so important to me for over half of my life is being taken away from me and I have no control over it and it sucks
Special place in hell for you Vegan Gains.
thank u !!
wait… shouldnt you be able to get all essentials from food, since you vegans say we are herbivores? why do all vegans have to pop pills? yet carnivore dieters supplement nothing. hmm lets do this math here
I don’t know what everyone else thinks, but I personally really like Mary Ruth’s liquid multivitamin and multimineral. Most of the flavors actually taste decent too.
CoQ10!
If you do a unnecessary supplement video you should talk about CoQ10. I’ll admit I take it. No clue if it’s making a difference. My doc is chill with it, it’s cheap, and it’s supposed to help half my issues.
Orgain has a duplicate of the Vega Simple protein powder. Its a larger package for around the same price.
Thank you for your video. I have been vegan for nearly 5 years, 4 of them as raw vegan. I used to only supplement with b12, and vitamin D, but now I have added a protein powder, k2, and chorella powder for some extra supplementation. Thank you for sharing the supplements you take ๐๐๐๐๐ซ๐โ๏ธ๐
hum but why the D3 supplement, since the Deva multi has D2 at 100% daily value ? D3 is better than D2?
I am surprised to hear you say that you take a multivitamin, you are usually very science based, that is one of the reasons I like your channel. There really is no evidence to show the multivitamins do anything other than empty our wallets and give us expensive urine. When you have a minute, please read an editorial in The Annals of Internal Medicine called "Enough is Enough". It is extremely comprehensive.
Its good Idea supplement D3+ K2, those 2 vitamins are synergistic.
isn’t deva like…not efficacious according to labdoor and other third-party testing sites lol
Hey! Love your videos!! I have a question regarding supplementation. Do you have any concerns regarding the high amounts of Vitamin A in the Deva prenatal? I’ve read m a n y articles about it and all seem to conclude that you should not supplement vit.A in the first 60days after conception. The WHO and NHS advice against Vit.A supplementation in the early phase as well. Granted the Deva prenatal although high in vitA still falls short of the upper limit of daily intake, and the upper limit is only determined in the vitamin A retinol form (not the beta carotine which vegans get).
So honestly, I’m just really confused as to which prenatal to take (since I don’t have access to the Deva prenatal in my country, Norway).
Did you have any concerns about vitamin A as well or am I just overthinking this?
Thanks! <3
I just started going to my doctor for monthly b12 injections, Iโm way too forgetful and chaotic to remember to take it every day and I get so much conflicting information about whether itโs even well absorbed orally so idk ๐คท๐ปโโ๏ธ hopefully it makes a difference
I take lysine, they are gigantic pills. Is it wrong?
I WOULD LIKE TO SEE YOU UPDATE THIS INFORMATION…
ARE YOU STILL TAKING THESE SAME SUPPLEMENTS OR HAVE YOU CHANGED ANYTHING IN YOUR PROTOCOL..
Lol me remembering last time you snuck a prenatal in to a what I eat in a day and then tiny baby was born and immediately expecting this to be a pregnancy announcement
B12, D, Calcium, Iodine.
Freelee is going to have a field day with this video LOL ๐
Thanks for the vegan d3 recommendation. I’ve been meaning to buy it but I couldnt find one that wasnt crazy expensive.
And I really like your shirt and thought that before you mentioned it. So dont feel dumb in it ๐
so which b vitamin did you pick?
I looked up those prenatal supplements and they’re not available here. I can get them from American Amazon but by the time shipping is factored in they end up being quite expensive. Any UK vegans in the comments got any recommendations for supplement brands?
do you think supplements are neccessary for vegan?
The problem with "Stevia" is it’s a brand hiding behind the name of a harmless plant. True stevia powder is just powdered plant leaves. I use it quite often. Has a liquorice flavor.
Hello, as far a I know CDP choline is better than Cholin Bitartrat(which is in the suplement that you show us) , because it gets better in the brain. BUt CDP choline is way more expansive.
Have you ever reatcted to Eat Move Rest channel? I couldn’t find one.
I hate the sun, so I have to take D3. It’s way more important than I thought as apparently…even at a normal weight as a non vegan, your period can be drastically affected. Who even knew?
Curious, Does your partner and kids all take the same suppliments?
UK vegans, Boots does vegan B12, omega 3, vit D etc. for pretty cheap!
Put your eyeliner on the top lid or check the ingredients
Women tend to eat less than men? Lol tell that to my husband who is constantly cooking meals for me ๐
I’m definitely going to be adding some of these vitamins to my daily/weekly regime. Also, I’d love to see you respond to the bone broth/raw milk fad. I’m running into it everywhere on social media, in the non-vegan, crunchy people communities. It’s annoying and I don’t get it๐
I love your look in this one. Your top and your hair ๐
Your makeup looks great!
Oh man, when I was a kid, I LOVED Quaker Cinnamon Life Cereal! Could eat that stuff all day long. Haven’t had it in 40 years. Ah, the memories… But. too much sugar in it for me now. As for nutritional yeast, I had been buying Anthony’s fortified, but became concerned upon realizing that it has a MASSIVE amount of various B vitamins. So, I switched to the unfortified version. Sadly, it’s almost twice the cost, but I get the B vits from a multivitamin instead.

Thank you for making this video!!!
Whatโs choline for ??
Thanks for sharing!
Ridiculous
regard the shirt, no it’s your hair. Get something done girl!
My diet is pretty complete already, so I just take DHA/EPA rich algal oil and half multivitamin just for the B12 and to be relaxed about the rest.
Supplements are food and I like a few. B12 often but I use nutritional yeast every day as I love the taste. Seaweed for iodine. Easy to buy in Japan. Kombu is chewy and a great snack.
Thank you !
You should take d vitamin with K2 for the best absorption.. I am surprised that you donโt knowโฆ
Loveeeeee โ
Excellent video and all those anti vegans trolls in the comments saying vegans are deficient in certain nutrients are out of touch with updated science and anti science because science from non vegan organisations say a well planned vegan diet is suitable for all stages of life. This is from non vegan Dietains and Nutritionist and other non vegan medical professionals.
Have you considered the B6 content?
Your shirt is cute stop it your beautiful !!
I didn’t take any supplements in over 20 years (being vegan) There have been occasions some vitamins were in fortified foods i bought but i don’t buy these on a regular basis at all.
Recently i decided to buy B12 (made in China, the type without cyanide). I also decided to buy K2 (which also happened to contain MK7) and i bought Creatine (made in Germany).
I really don’t think i need anything else if you consider i already did over 20 years pure vegan with zero supplements.
I’m considering doing a video series to see if i notice any changes over the next year or two.
I also gave up cereals over the last year or two. I have been 95% successful in being cereal free over the last year.
The main reason for giving up cereals if for our environment due to terrible farming practices. But it is also akin to eating spoons of sugar all day as cereals digest into sugars. Also, they contain very very few nutrients these days for multiple reasons. Don’t kill yourself and the environment try quitting all cereals, that means rice, corm, wheat, beer etc.
On a side note i feel no difference in energy levels without cereals, if anything i feel more efficient and more trim at 49 years of age.
