Top 6 Probiotic Supplements for Gut Health

Top 6 Probiotic Supplements for Gut Health

Choosing a probiotic supplement for gut health is as confusing as choosing any kind of supplement — the limitless brands all seem the same, but all claim to be different. Many brands claim their probiotic is the “best” because it has a certain amount of a certain bacterial strain proven to improve gut health. But where is the proof? And even if they provide some kind of proof, how do we know how much and what type of bacteria is best for our situation?

Many brands seem to only offer a placebo effect, and because of the high price of probiotics, we often stop trying. I know this all too well; along my journey in battling IBD I tried countless probiotic supplements and was left with all of these questions and more.

It wasn’t until a coworker suggested Visbiome as a probiotic to improve my IBD when I noticed marginal differences in my gut health.

I came to the conclusion that we often choose our probiotic supplements based on marketing versus how well they actually work in improving our personal gut health. This article is my best attempt to answer the questions above and provide the top six, Whealthy-approved best probiotic supplements, where you’re likely to notice a measurable difference in the improvement of gut health.

*Disclaimer: As a general rule, more research is needed to prove that probiotics are effective in humans. The reason for this lack of evidence in the field is because not only is every person (and every microbiome) different, but there are an uncounted number of beneficial bacteria that come in all strain sizes, types, CFU counts, and combinations; making probiotics a tricky topic for scientific research. Always consult your doctor before trying new supplements or medications. This article is based on personal research and years worth of experience with IBD treatment.

  1. Nooo probiotics I’ve tried so far have worked for me – to be honest I’ve only tried like 6 but still – will go for visbiome now!

  2. Use Condonrx a new probiotic and the only one on the market that uses patented lactobacillus acidophilus strain NCK2926 strain developed by scientests. Finally found one that actually works.

  3. Do you think it would be beneficial to go ahead and put the probiotics that don’t need to be refrigerated in the refrigerator?

  4. LOVED visbiome. But they removed their inactive ingredients and it no longer works the same for many people. Such a bummer. It really helped me a lot

  5. Hey thanks for the info. Just ordered myself a bottle of visbiome. I notice the bottle says 1-4 capsules a day do you recommend any dose to start out with?

  6. Thanks for the information. By the way you should really consider being a book narrator, sleep or meditation guide cause your voice is so soothing.

  7. This video cleared up a lot of information for me, even though I had read a lot of professional literature and talks on the topic. Thank you!

  11. Sir, you are most correct! Visbiome BY FAR is the best. I’d taken other probiotics & it was like I’d taken nothing! Seriously. So, having taken useless probiotics that did absolutely nothing for me, one day my VETERINARIAN prescribed Visbiome for my CAT! I’d requested my vet suggest a probiotic in pill form for my cat, since my cat wouldn’t eat the sprinkle-on vet probiotic supplements. Wow, it was more $$, but I saw a definite change in my cat. His life improved after Visbiome! So, I thought, shoot…lemme give it a try. I’ve never turned back. Visbiome is the difference between night & day for me. Told my Mom to take it. She didn’t take my advice for months. One day she calls me & said she finally tried some Visbiome & it did wonders for her. I asked her, ‘what took you so long to finally try it?!’

  12. Hey, thanks for this information! In the past I have dealt with many stomach issues. I later found out that my anxiety and panic attacks stemmed from not only my bad eating habits, but my bacteria imbalance! At that time I knew nothing about stomach bacteria. My bad eating habits, have supported the growth of parasites as well. Doctors were quick to give me antibiotics, but never fully explained the importance of probiotics. I did my own research and learned everything i could get my hands on concerning stomach healing! I really appreciate the great insight that your video shows! You are super knowledgeable and looking forward to seeing more.

  13. Which probiotic do you suggest for those who have acid reflux? Obviously I know you have to lose weight, chew your food and not over eat but whatever probiotic do you think out of those will work the best?

  14. The supplements which are not regulated or well researched how we can believe in these!! Who knows what is in those pills!!

Nothing can compete with food/diet… who knows these will make you dependent like antibiotics!!! Looks like we are becoming pills eater society!!

  15. Thankyou for the valuable information. I am i IBS-C person. I had it from early teen years. But never knew what to do to live better with my on and off symptoms. Earlier this year i had a bad flare up, had to go to emergency, costed me over thousand dollars and i was so scared to have this condition and i thought my life is going to be this scary and unpredictable all the time. But with the help of good doctors advice and mistakes from my mother( yes she has the IBS-D ) i am learing to live with this. Taking probiotics from many months now. But always looking for more information.

  17. Thanks for this, Ordered Visbiome this tuesday. Waiting for its arrival. Expensive for a probiotic but…if we can drop money on food, drinks and so on. We can drop it on our health , especially if it’ll help.

  18. Are any probiotics able to eat any bad bacteria, or are certain bad germs only able to be eaten by certain strains of probiotics?
